Rear Disc Conversion Kit

(Cosworth Rear Caliper)

 

Full kit to convert your Atlas axle from the old style drum brakes to the more modern/powerful disc brake setup. The kit uses the popular Sierra Cosworth/Granada rear calliper and solid discs. This means the kit can have a mechanical handbrake system, as required by MOT etc.

Comprises;

  • New callipers,
  • New discs,
  • Re-con cradles,
  • Full set pads,
  • Mounting brackets,
  • Bolts/fixings,
  • Bearing spacer plates (to fill the gap where the drum backplate used to be),
  • Set of 8 long wheel studs.

Designed to fit inside 13” wheels.

In order to fit the kit, the wheel mounting flange on your axle halfshafts will need turning down a little. Easy job in a lathe! Or send them to us, and we’ll machine them for you, FOC if a full kit is purchased.

Handbrake cable is NOT included in the sale, but we can advise which is the best item to use for your application.

Weld-on Caliper Brackets (Atlas)

 

Weld-on type mounting brackets, precision laser-cut in 10mm steel. To mount various callipers with Ford mounting holes (90mm centres, 10.5mm holes) such as Cosworth/Granada rear, or Fiesta front callipers. Spacers will be required (and supplied on request – please state application) to set correct axial mounting position of calliper. To be used with 247mm disc (mk3 Escort front solid disc)

Weld-on Caliper Brackets (English)

 

Weld-on type calliper mounting brackets to mount Cosworth/Granada rear handbrake type callipers onto ENGLISH axle, in conjunction with Fiesta mk3 front solid discs. Brackets have holes in them for alignment/access purposes only – they MUST be welded fully before use.

Rear disc conversion kit utilising lightweight, powerful, single-piston sliding rear callipers – complete with built in mechanical handbrake mechanism for MOT purposes.

Kit comes complete with;

  • callipers,
  • mounting cradles,
  • sliders,
  • mounting brackets (Weld-on type),
  • brake pads,
  • bearing spacer plates,
  • nuts/bolts and fittings.

Weld-on XR3 Caliper Bracket (Atlas)

 

Weld-on type calliper mounting brackets to mount the XR3 type front calliper onto the ATLAS axle, along with standard XR3 vented discs. Brackets can be used for other applications, such as Cosworth/Granada rear callipers if used with the correct disc. 3mm turned spacers are provided to give correct axial positioning of calliper relative to disc. Precision laser-cut on 10mm steel. May require a small amount of grinding when fitting.
